What lubricant is recommended?
S3 recommends any of the silicone lubricants. The silicone lubricants are safe to use with all products including latex, can be used as a massage oil alternative, do not contain glycerin (sugar), and are waterproof. They are highly recommended for people with skin sensitivities. They feel like oil and make an excellent skin conditioner. The owner uses the I-D Millennium as a face moisturizer and in her hair for that sleek, shinning look.
Are silicone lubricants safe to use with silicone toys?
Yes and no. Silicone lube is safe to use with high-grade silicone toys, such as most Fun Factory and Tantus products. Low-grade silicone products will start to break down when used with silicone lube. This material type feels extremely soft and squishy, like the Helmet Hugger or the Silicone Island Rings. If you would like to use silicone lube and are not sure about the material of your toy, try a test. Place a small drop of silicone lube on the toy in an inconspicuous area, like on the back or base of the product. After 10 minutes or so, wipe the area and see if there is a mark left by the lube (such as a bubble or dimple). If so, it is not recommended to use silicone lube with your product.
Do you sell spermicidal lubricants?
Spermicidal lubricants are no longer available. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) released a study in August, 2000 suggesting that the use of spermicides (AKA: nonoxynol-9 or N-9) can cause the skin to dry and crack. The cracked skin creates portals for HIV, diseases and infections to enter. As a precaution, the lubrication companies stopped manufacturing their products with nonoxynol-9. You can still purchase condoms with the spermicidal lubricant but more and more condom companies are discontinuing this as well. Learn more about condoms with N-9...
What is the difference between the brands of silicone lubes?
ID, Wet and Body Action silicone lubrications feature the same 3 ingredients; Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, and Dimethiconol. The difference between those brands is in the order the ingredients are used, which slightly changes the consistency of the product. Body Action and Wet Platinum have a similar consistency, while ID Millennium is slightly thinner.
System JO and Pjur Eros, both considered to be "premium" silicones, use Cyclopentasiloxane and have a thicker feel. System JO uses a total of five ingredients and has a "powdery" finish.
Do you carry any water-based lubes that don't contain glycerin?
If you prefer a water-based lubricant but are sensitive to glycerin, try Slippery Stuff gel, Liquid Silk for a creamy consistency, Maximus for a thicker liquid, System JO for Women, Astroglide Glycerin Free or Sliquid Swirl for sugar-free flavored fun!
What is the least expensive silicone lube you carry?
To try a silicone-based lube, the Body Action 2.3 oz is the least expensive bottle at $10.99. However the Body Action Extreme Glide 8.5oz bottle is the lowest dollar per ounce bottle at $23.99.
What lube do you recommend for anal sex?
We have found this is a personal preference. Some of our clients enjoy a gel and others prefer more of a liquid consistency. We suggest trying Body Action Extreme Glide or Pjur Eros, both silicone lubes, due to their thicker texture and long-lasting durability. If you prefer a water-based formula, try Maximus or Liquid Silk for their longevity.
Always remember to use extra lubrication when inserting anything into the rectum.
