Back Door Basics for Men and Women
|
Many people are interested in trying anal sex for the first time, but may be too embarrassed or shy to try. If you are thinking about the "back door", we have a few points of information that may help get you started.
|
1) Trying or liking anal sex does not determine sexual orientation. Many heterosexual men and women enjoy, and often times prefer, anal stimulation. Remember, STDs/STIs and HIV can be passed vaginally, orally and anally - practice safer sex methods with any type of intimate activity.
2) A big concern for many people is cleanliness. Although it is not required, some people prefer to have an enema prior to anal play. Men and women can also use the Female Condom to line the rectum for safety and cleanliness. Condoms are also a useful liner for the fingers or can be used as a dental dam for oral stimulation. If you are sill shy, have your first experience in the shower - soap and water are handy!
3) Anal sex should never hurt. If you are feeling pain, your body is telling you that something needs to be adjusted. For safety, use plenty of lubricant and start small. Using a well lubricated finger or narrow toy will help the body relax the sphincter muscles.
4) Lubricant is a key ingredient for anal play. We do not recommend any type of oil for lubrication - oil can trap bacteria against the body and is not latex safe. Silicone lubes are recommended due to their longevity and slipperiness or try a good, thick water-base. S3 Safe Sex Store does not recommend or sell numbing lubricants for anal play - the numbing effect can mask pain, which is an indicator that something is wrong.
5) Relax! Anal sex can be pleasurable for both men and women if both the mind and body are calm and confidently prepared. Don't get stressed about what might happen - start small, slow and slippery! If you have the right equipment, are in a comfortable location and are with a partner you trust, now may be the time to give anal play a try! Click here for a list of suggested gear for beginners.
